Melina is a midwife, childbirth educator and mother, who embraces birth as a rite of passage, a transition where a woman becomes a mother. She is passionate about working with women and their partners to navigate their unique pregnancy, birth and mothering journey. Melina’s mantra being your body, your baby, your birth, your journey. She is an ardent campaigner for normal birth and celebrates birth as a primal and sacred experience and strives to empower women to prepare for this experience. However, Melina also understands that things do not always go to plan and complications can arise and prepares couples with information and skills to navigate the system if this should occur. Melina says that as a midwife it is an absolute privilege to bear witness to the everyday miracle of childbirth and mothering. Her quest is to engage with women to empower them to trust the process of birth, to draw on inner strength and wisdom to support them through this beautiful and precious time in their life.
I love spending time with my husband and 3 children and extended family and friends. I had a happy and relaxed upbringing in the small Northern NSW beachside community of Pottsville. I enjoy the beach and being in nature and love to read and in years gone by have been a keen water skier. Meditation is an important part of my daily life and helps to keep me feeling centred and balanced.
